Al Fasher:
A City in Crisis

Famine. Displacement. Violence. The humanitarian crisis has reached catastrophic levels.

Al Fasher, once a refuge in North Darfur, is now at the epicentre of a devastating humanitarian catastrophe. The city has become a frontline in Sudan’s escalating conflict, with relentless violence and a near-total siege pushing over 450,000 people from their homes in just weeks.

Displacement camps like Zamzam and Abu Shouk, once lifelines for hundreds of thousands, have been attacked, emptied, or destroyed. Survivors are sheltering in overcrowded buildings, makeshift tents, or out in the open, left to survive with almost no food, water, or protection.

Food prices have soared beyond reach, and most community kitchens have shut down. It is estimated that 60% of Al Fasher’s population will face acute food insecurity by mid-2025, including 170,000 in famine and 342,000 in emergency levels. Malnutrition rates have already crossed emergency thresholds, with famine confirmed in parts of North Darfur.

Sadagaat-USA
Emergency Kitchen

In response to these devastating events, Sadagaat, in collaboration with Nabd Al-Hawadeth Association, is providing life-saving meals. Our central kitchen aims to provide consistent access to nutritious food, directly fighting hunger and malnutrition in the community ravaged by war.

It currently costs 8,326 USD per day to feed around 3,000 individuals, and the need is only growing.

The crisis is deepening, yet your action can make an immediate difference.
