WATER IS LIFE

WATER IS LIFE

CLEAN WATER CHANGES EVERYTHING

In Sudan, millions survive on less than five litres of water a day — far below the emergency standard of 15 litres. This scarcity endangers health, education, and livelihoods. Sadagaat USA addresses this crisis by providing sustainable, clean water solutions through wells, water networks, and filtration systems.

Our projects enhance health, reduce disease, and empower communities. Local water committees ensure sustainability and ownership, while schools receive water coolers so children can learn instead of fetching water.

Without action, this crisis deepens. Families lose time, children lose futures, and lives are lost. But your support can stop this.

Together, we can save lives, restore hope, and ensure every community in Sudan thrives.

OUR WATER PROJECTS

Water Supply

Sadagaat USA’s Water Supply Program aims to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water across Sudan’s diverse regions. The program implements three main types of projects based on local water sources:

  1. Groundwater Supply: Construction and maintenance of solar-powered groundwater plants, promoting environmental sustainability.
  2. River Water Supply: Utilization of the Nile River and its tributaries in nearby areas.
  3. Water Harvesting: In regions lacking permanent rivers or accessible groundwater, this method captures and stores rainwater and seasonal runoff using excavation techniques and earthen dams.

These projects ensure long-term water security, meeting both current and future community needs in various Sudanese states.

Sadagaat USA recognizes the critical link between water, sanitation, and public health. The organization’s comprehensive approach addresses these interconnected issues through:

  1. Community education on water conservation and safe management
  2. Implementation of environmental sanitation projects
  3. Construction and rehabilitation of sanitation facilities in schools and health centers
  4. Raising awareness about hygiene practices to prevent water-related diseases

This integrated strategy aims to create a healthier environment by simultaneously tackling water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges.

Sadagaat USA empowers local communities through its Water Users Committee training program. This initiative supports the sustainable management of water plants installed as part of the water supply program. By educating beneficiaries on effective revenue utilization and plant maintenance, Sadagaat USA ensures the long-term operation of these vital resources. This community-based approach guarantees water security and promotes broader village development, fostering self-reliance and sustainable growth.

During natural disasters and floods, Sadagaat USA implements comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs. These initiatives focus on:

  1. Providing clean water supplies
  2. Establishing sanitation facilities
  3. Promoting personal hygiene practices

By addressing these critical needs, we aim to prevent the spread of water-related diseases and avert potential public health emergencies in affected communities.
