The month of Dhul Hijjah is the blessed month of Hajj (pilgrimage) and the month containing the ten most powerful days of the year in which rewards are greatly multiplied. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “There is no deed that is better in the sight of Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of Al-Adha” [Bukhari]. During this month, we have an incredible opportunity to do good and to seize bountiful rewards.

Though this year the COVID-19 pandemic has stopped people living outside of Saudi Arabia to make the pilgrimage to Mecca for Hajj, there is still an opportunity to earn an abundant amount of rewards during this month. Sadagaat-USA is inviting those who were planning to go for hajj but had to cancel to donate some of that money that was reserved for the trip to one of Sadagaat’s health projects.

Your contribution will go towards the Mygoma Project. Mygoma is a small orphanage fostering outcast children who are in desperate need of support. They are children who have been displaced, abandoned by their families, and are in search of a home and a better life. Mygoma orphanage was built in 1961 due to the large number of abandoned babies that were found in the streets of Khartoum and surrounding suburbs. Sadagaat-USA is raising funds to renovate a space for washing clothes, as well as building a kitchen and a room for preparing milk.

Sponsoring orphans is a cause particularly dear to the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) heart. He (PBUH) was also an orphan – his father passed away before he was even born, and his mother passed away when he was a young child. For this reason, the Prophet (saw) said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,“and he (PBUH) held his two fingers together to illustrate’. [Bukhari]

Giving any amount helps, and your rewards will greatly exceed anything you give during this month of Dhul Hijjah, and especially during these first ten days.
