adagaat -USA believes in the importance of education and its role in peace-build and stopping war and displacement, that is why we need your help in rebuilding Um Haitan Primary School in South Kordofan, Sudan!
Um Haitan is a small village with a population of 25,000 people located in Sudan’s state of South Kordofan. Cradled between the Nuba Mountains, for the past 40 years, Um Haitan has had ongoing armed conflicts between the government and rebels, and the cost fell heaviest on students struggling to complete an education without an existing building to receive an education in. With the cost being unbearable for the residents of Um Haitan, the community is in dire need of funding to rebuild the completely devastated old school, Um Haitan Primary School, which was destroyed in 1995. Since then, the school has been utilized as a military base, and thousands of students have been displaced and robbed of the gift of education in Um Haitan.
Rebuilding Um Haitan Primary School will directly benefit 2,000 students and will greatly reduce the gap of illiteracy that has been created as a result of the loss of education for almost five generations simply because of the lack of a basic educational facility.
