WE BELIEVE IN VALUES

Professionalism & Transparency

Our main trusted partner in Sudan is Sadagaat Charity Organization. Sadagaat as an idea began with a group of young people who were settled in different parts of the world and felt the need to help those in need in Sudan. They knew that many of their friends and family wanted to help but did not know how to. Many were also unaware of the extent of their ability to contribute towards a better future and reality for others. The first project was launched early 2002 and consisted of rehabilitating and maintaining a masjid in Omdurman (Alsawra 19). The following year, 2003 , it was agreed upon to provide for the expenses of a Ramadan table at Al Masjid Al-Nabawi. In addition to assuming the costs for printing an appreciable amount of references for the College of Engineering, University of Khartoum.

The Initiative was met with approval and attracted many new individuals who felt the need to help. The Ramadan Table project continued in 2004 the following years, this also includes Sadagaat collaborating with another group in Sudan that was already distributing Ramadan food packages to needy families.

In late 2004 the Sadagaat group agreed unanimously that Sudan should be the main focus of aid.  This shift in focus occurred when a few of the founding members had returned to Sudan and discovered that many of those inside Sudan did not know how to effectively direct their Sadagaat “charity”. It was agreed upon, that project Ramadan Bag was imperative. since then, the number of bags distributed every Ramadan increased exponentially from hundreds to thousands.

Sadagaat Group did not stop at distributing Ramadan Bags, the group activities widened to include irrigation projects. These projected consisted of either digging complete artesian wells with all accessories for large populations, or providing what is know as “Alkrjacat” for small villages, indifferent parts of Sudan. The expansion extended to providing breakfast to a number of school student in Omdurman.  Since its inception, five years after,  the project has been able to reach more 1,000 students.

Sadagaat has also extended its helping hands to the health care sector in Sudan. Sadagaat has been able to provide quality services to a number of affected categories beginning with supplying monthly rations to the urinary fistula patients who were suffering from neglect throughout the past years. The care extended to include the House for Orphan Children “Dar Almaygouma”. Sadagaat took over the expenses of the company that takes charge of hygiene and handle the laundry operations. through this project, Sadagaat has been able to significantly contributed to the reduction of child mortality.

Sadagaat continued to increase their contributions to the health sector. In an attempt to upgrade the state of health care service in Sudan, Sadagaat has provided medical devices and equipment of paramount importance and high cost to both public and philanthropic hospitals.

In the mindset of developing the spirit of solidarity in the Sudanese society, daily Ramadan Iftar “Tales of Ramadan” were set. In addition to the campaigns for used clothing and sacrificed meat distribution as well as Eid treat bags were launched.

In 2012, the Sadagaat Group decided to expand their operations beyond seasonal events by performing all their activities year-round. The group also registered with government authorities in order to continue its social work in Sudan.

An annual work plan was developed. This is followed up and implemented under the watchful eye of responsible administrative and executive body that includes a full-time staff and considerable number of volunteers. All this has contributed greatly to the growth of the volume of services provided by Sadagaat charity to the Sudanese community.

The more people you tell about Sadagaat, the bigger the difference we make. Every little bit helps, so tell your friend and family how they can make a difference.
